1.  Rob Brown $1100.00

I bought two knives from Rob in 1986. On the blade he engraved his name, the serial number of the knife and the name of the gunshop I had at that time.  The knife has been used, but one would be hard pressed to see this.  I returned the knife to Rob in September 2014 and he sharpened and polished it to as new condition. The knife is in pristine condition.

The length is: 220 mm / 8.66"

The blade is: 105 mm / 4.13"

Coachwork is brass.

Handle is Tamboti

The blade and tang is tapered towards both sides.

There is a white on black line between the handle and the tang.

The knife was made very shortly after Rob Brown joined the SA Knifemaker's Guild.

3.  Mick Russell $1500.00

Mick Russel was a member of the South African Knifemaker's Guild from 1987 until an accident prevented further knifemaking.  To successfully apply for membership of the Guild, a knifemaker must submit 5 knives to a panel.  If the quality is of a certain standard or above, the applicant is accepted.  The knife below is one of the 5 knives Mick submitted and is serial numbered #002. This knife was purchased from Mick in 1987 and a letter of authenticity is supplied with the knife.

The blade is made from D2 steel, the furniture is brass and the handles are sneezewood burl.

Overall length is 270 mm (10.63"), the handle is 117 mm (4.6")

4.  Mick Russell $2500.00

This knife was purchased in 1999 and appears on Mick's brochure of that time.  A brochure as well as a letter of authenticity, signed by Mick, is supplied with the knife.  The engraving is done by Elke Henley (nee Schoenert) and the scales are M'tisa wood and micarta with furniture done in nickel silver.  The knife is serial numbered #034 and presented in a Tamboti case also made by Mick.
