THE FOLLOWING PICTURES TELL THE STORY OF A PROUD HUNTER, HUSBAND AND FATHER

Mark shot this impala ram at a distance of 76m with his 375H&H, using the GS Custom 265hv bullet.  He loaded with 74gr S341 and measured at 2800fps, col 95,5mm.  Shot placement was at a slight angle at the base of the neck and the exit wound was at the loin. The pictures below show the carcass.

Mark took head shots at both these rams - the bigger one at 96m and the smaller at 40m. He used the same rifle and load as was reported above.

Mark's son, Rohan, shot this Blue Wildebeest bull. He used the GSC 308130hv from a Mauser at 2975 fps with 47gr S335. The animal stood broadside at 40m.  At the moment that Rohan squeezed the trigger, the animal swung its head backwards. The bullet penetrated the skin underneath the neck and entered the shoulder.  Although it lost the petals, the bullet penetrated the heart.  The animal ran for 50 meters and collapsed. Mark reports that meat damage was minimal. One wonders who seems to be proudest - Rohan, or sister Annelize?

This time Rohan found a young Kudu bull and succeeded with a head shot at 30m, using the same rifle and load as indicated above.

Martie used the same load as reported above in her 308 Sako full stock to bag this kudu cow.  She succeeded with a neck shot at 30m. Jack Russels are strong willed dogs - it refused to pose properly!
