Leon Hensel - 2013
Both blesbuck were taken out of the same herd. The first one dropped to the shot, and the distance was a ranged (Leica range-finder) at 210m, the second one trotted off and, when he stopped, he was 260m from me. After the shot, this one only made a half-hearted 15 to 20m dash.
The spingbuck, my first (and like your mysteriously short barrelled 7x57...don't ask), was 220m from me.
I cannot believe how fast animals die when hit by GSC HV bullets, and I have used plenty of different makes!
The load by the way, is the GSC 150 grain HV bullet, with XX grains of S355 set on fire with a Federal 215 LR Mag Primer. PMP cases hold this all together. And the cartridge? The venerable 30-06!
Great bullets!!
Oh, I almost forgot! The wind was quite frisky, and I did not need to compensate in any way. This was a bonus as I lack experience shooting in windy conditions...
